I too enjoyed rereading the speech and revisiting that time. While there have been meaningful improvements through legislation and through personal attitudes, I believe the human instinct to resort to racism or anti-this or that is always present. Rough up the public with a little bit of travail and the public will find a scapegoat. It is hard for people to address the true causes of their problems because the causes are messy and not able to be expressed in three words or less. Better to condemn a whole group of persons.

I think that was beautiful the way you and your brother expressed your love for Francis. It was so touching. She was an Angel from Heaven. You were so blessed to have her be part of your lives. I am glad I got to know her whem I joined The Cypress Senior Center in 1900. Angie Housman

So sorry to hear of Frances passing away.I grew up at 459 Nolden Ave. I have such fond memories of Frances and Albert watching us play. She never cared if we used her yard for hide and seek or if her drive way was the turn around for our bike adventures.

I saw her last summer when I drove my two girls through the old neighborhood. I introduced them to Frances and we both smiled and enjoyed the memories of years gone by.

She will always be a treasure to Nolden Ave and all the kids who drew chalk drawings on her sidewalk.

We love you Frances!!!
The Nolden gang, Terri,Tracy, Gloria, Mary, Marina, Diona, Anthony, John, Dave, Danny, and Eddie.
